Magnetic Island Resorts is not like other holiday and resort islands in Queensland. It is not a destination with only one resort that you can visit. Magnetic Island, Australia, gives you the choice of several resorts on an island that has several towns and a permanent population of 2500 people. The island is located just of Townsville which is north Queensland’s largest city. Access is via a fast ferry service for walk on passengers or via a vehicle barge if you want to take your car across. Sealed roads on the island link the major towns and another unsealed road circumnavigates the island. The main towns are at Nelly Bay and Horseshoe Bay and there is a brand new boat harbour and ferry terminal. Shopping on the island is just like home, with supermarkets and plenty of other shopping. Many holiday makers hire a car when they reach the island. For some reason, almost every Mini Moke ever built has migrated to Magnetic Island and is now available for hire there.

Right at the boat harbour, you will find the two main resorts on the island. These are both new apartment style resorts set in waterfront positions. One even has its own marina berths if you choose to come on your own boat. These resorts are Mantra One Bright Point and Peppers Blue on Blue resort. The location here is quite beautiful and apartments all have views of the boat harbour and marina. Horseshoe Bay is a very popular tourist destination. The beach here is the best on the island and is equipped with stinger nets. The bay is always full of visiting yachts and people having fun on jet skis and windsurfers. The beachfront is lined with shops and restaurants and the holiday atmosphere is relaxing.

Magnetic Island has lots of great attractions. It has the largest koala population in Australia and other wildlife includes possums, kangaroos and wallabies. The local nine hole golf course is one of the most challenging you will find. Small greens and narrow fairways coupled with spectacular creeks and washouts make it a great challenge for even the professional golfer.

Magnetic Island, with its great supply of holiday accommodation, and its other attractions make it a great favorite with both the locals and the international tourists.
