Same old, same old holiday? Not at Hayman Island Resort in the beautiful Whitsundays region of Queensland, Australia. Hayman Island is the one place where you can go that you will get what you expect, and if you have been there before, you will find what you remember and you will enjoy it the same as you did the first time. Many customers come back to Hayman Island resort, time and time again as it has that special ambience that lovers of luxury and perfect relaxation are looking for. Hayman Island is located towards the northern end of the Whitsundays region. It is accessed from either Airlie Beach on the mainland or from the airport on Hamilton Island. Luxurious fast ferries run a regular service to deliver guests to the resort and the ferry ride is beautiful as you pass right through the islands of the Whitsunday passage and enjoy a relaxing drink on the way. On arrival, a group of well dressed staff greet every arrival and transfer luggage from the boat to your accommodation.
The facilities around the resort are terrific. There is a shopping arcade with souvenirs and resort wear as well as hair and beauty salons. The library is beautiful and there are four restaurants to choose from. The quality of the dining on Hayman Island is legend. Over the years the island has had many rebuilds and refurbs. I have read reports by some people that the island is dated, however my own view is that its luxury ambience, although from an older era, will always exude an atmosphere of quiet luxury and the service and cuisine available at Hayman Island are always spot on. Rooms are superbly appointed and floors are all marble. A more modern resort may have a more modern appearance and use different materials, but in my view, the Hayman Island experience is in a class of its own. The swimming pool at Hayman Island is more like a lake and the accommodation is all laid out overlooking either the pool or the lagoon. New beachfront accommodation is on the way as of 2010 and all the older beachfront suite are being demolished. Waterfront activities include sailing, canoeing, fishing and relaxing on the beach or pool side. Hayman Island is an icon on the Australian Island resort scene and will remain one for generations to come. »» Hayman Island |
